It can be a daunting task, making
sure you receive the right coverage for you and your car. There are
three types of car insurance to choose from - comprehensive, third party
fire and theft, and third party only.
Comprehensive coverage does
what it says, providing calm no matter your troubles. Whether or not you
are at fault, your car is protected against damage, fire, and theft. So
your attention can be focused on more pressing matters. Peace of mind
costs a bit more upfront, but can save you a bundle on the long road.
Most companies require this level of coverage if your car is worth more
than a set limit.
Third party fire and theft
gives you security if your car is stolen or is damaged by fire, but
doesn't protect your car if you cause an accident.
Third party only covers any
damage done to other people's property and bodily injury, but repairs to
your own car are out of pocket. All motorists must carry third party
insurance as a minimum requirement on their vehicles.
For those that need a little
extra, there are add-ons like legal protection and breakdown coverage.
